Hi and thank you for such a great site. Believe it or not, one of the reasons I was so moved by the 1998 film “The Thin Red Line” by Terrence Malick is because, unlike most other war movies, it does show some of the devastation to the environment and animals due to a gruesome war. There’s also an evocative poetry and exultation in the power of nature in the film which is, once again, quite unique amongst war films.
